A class with Read Art is extremely easy. Just pack your drinks, and we’ll take care of the rest. We provide the location, seating, tabletop or easel, paintbrushes, paint and a canvas. You’ll be guided step-by-step through your painting session by one of our experienced artists; Al or Deb. With a great soundtrack, expert instruction and a few sips of wine you’ll be one step closer to releasing your inner artist!
What time should I arrive and how long do events run?
Arriving at the venue 10 minutes before the session commences will give you plenty of time to find a seat with your friends, get comfortable, set-up and pour a drink before the fun commences. Adult classes usually run between 2–2.5 hours.
What's included in the price?
The price per person includes everything you’ll need to create your masterpiece. You’ll have all the necessary equipment provided, including a blank canvas, paints and brushes. All sessions include guidance from one of our artists to assist you in releasing your inner artist. The only thing you’ll need to bring is your favourite drink, some nibbles and your imagination.
What should I wear?
Experience shows that no matter how careful you are, after a few hours and a few adult beverages paint usually ends up on clothing. Wear something comfortable and something you don't mind getting a little paint on.
Do I have to copy the artist's work and colours?
No, it's all about having fun, getting creative and experimenting. Our artist will guide you step-by-step through the painting and assist you in finding your inner artist.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule after I have paid for an event?
Sometimes things just don't fall into place, which is why we’re happy to cancel or reschedule your booking up to 24 hours before the class begins and request to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made within 24 hours of your booking you will receive a credit (minus a $25 rebooking fee) to reschedule at a later date. Credit must be used within 90 days.
Important: We are very strict on ‘no shows’. If you do not show up for the booked class or cancel via email before the class has started, your full class fee will be forfeited. We are unable to refund, reschedule or provide credit for a missed session without written proof of cancellation. Written proof is via email only: email@example.com displaying date and time sent.
Can I have a party at my home with my friends?
Absolutely! Why have a Tupperware party when you can have an awesome paint party? We will bring the party to you and 6 or more of your friends. Just contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send you all the information you need to host an event to be remembered. Prices start from only $55pp.
Do I need to pay in advance?
Yes. The party host or hostess (you) will collect full payment from each guest (6+ friends) to confirm their attendance at your event then make payment online via the private party link for your group. You also have the option of providing all guests with the link so they can book and pay for themselves. Full payment must be received by Read Art a week before your Paint Party at Home event. Unfortunately, if all 6+ payments are not received within 48 hours prior to your party date, the party will need to be rescheduled to a later date.
Do you run after school classes for kids?
Yes, we love running kids' classes at our home studio. We are both qualified school teachers who graduated from UWS with a Bachelor of Fine Art. Please call us for session times. We have both primary school and high school sessions available. Classes can be for pure enjoyment or can be aligned to the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority - The Arts. We run 10-week term classes for children of all grade levels, and for children who are homeschooled.
